the provost family

Many if not all of the people who come to www.Provost.org are looking for information about genealogy. In fact, when my father and I set up this site, one of the things we were hoping was that it would help us find other Provost's who could help us research our family tree.

Well... that's exactly what happened. Claude Provost contacted us and told us about the research he'd been doing.

It turns out that Claude had researched almost every Provost family tree in North America! The first Provost immigrant, Martin Prevost came to Canada from France in 1611. He was followed by Francois Provost (1737), Eustache Prevost (1644), and Rene Provost (1652).

I'm not going to bore you with the details, because Claude has graciously made it available to all of us on his website (see references below).

So if you are trying to figure out your place in the Provost family tree, you've started off pretty well by finding The Provost Family Registry. You can continue your search on Claude's site, and on the other resources listed below. If you still need help, feel free to send me an email.
